Tiramisu is one of the first western desserts that I got to try, and it was pretty much love at first taste ;) The combination of coffee and liquor is probably one of the best discovery in the culinary world. I don't see any reason why one should not love this dessert.

There are so many different Tiramisu recipes, but today I bring to you one of the easiest, but still palatable, recipe. This is also a perfect gift for your loved ones. Just use a small major jar as the container then put on the lid and deliver it to the lucky recipient ;)

Watch the video below for detailed instructions

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup strong coffee. I used Vietnamese freshly brewed coffee
  • 2 tsp (10ml) rum/brandy/Bailey/kahlua
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz (226g) mascarpone cheese, softened in room temperature
  • 2-3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) rum/brandy/Bailey/kahlua
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • Lady fingers

Instructions:
  1. Make coffee. Add 2 tsp liquor and 2tsp sugar to warm coffee, stir well to dissolve
  2. Smoothen mascarpone cheese using a spatula in a mixing bowl, then add sugar
  3. Blend on medium speed till well combined
  4. Add 2tbsp liquor to cheese mixture, blend till well combined
  5. Add 1/2 cup heavy cream to cheese mixture, blend till smooth and reaches soft peak
  6. Dip lady fingers into coffee mixture for about 1 second each side
  7. Add a bit of cheese mixture to bottom of a cocktail glass as a base
  8. Add coffee-dipped lady fingers on top of the cheese base
  9. Consecutively make one layer of cheese then another layer of lady fingers till glass is filled.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving
  11. Dust cocoa powder for garnish before serving

Enjoy :)
